Next time you reach for a plastic water bottle, consider this: in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, there's a floating island of plastic debris known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Believe it or not, this subcontinent of trash measures twice the size of Texas. No, that's not a typo … TWICE THE SIZE OF TEXAS.

While it's still being studied and its effects are difficult to determine at this point, we can fairly safely say that refuse-filled oceans are not a good thing.

Hence, our avoidance of plastic drink bottles.

But it doesn't end there. We were also very selective in the boxes we put our Life Shotz in. Our paper manufacturer and printer are both FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. That means the box material is created from managed forests or tree farms and don't contribute to deforestation.

We can even track exactly which forest floor our packaging came from.

The exterior of the boxes wasn't ignored, either. All inks and coatings are water based, non-toxic and safe for the environment.

And yes — we do the obvious stuff, too. Things like recycling, turning off lights and powering down computers and other office machines when they're not in use. That is, after all, good business and common sense.
